IRSOL is a good hydrocarbon solvent with and optimum evaporation rates.

IRSOL shows good solvency for all types of hydrocarbons, from heavy oils, greases and waxes to oil-based paints and inks. It can be used for general cleaning, de-greasing, paint thinning, ink preparation and other similar uses.

IRSOL is a solvent that boils over at a range of temperatures 310°F to 390°F.

IRSOL should be treated with the same care that is due all chemicals.  Avoid vapor inhalation.

IRSOL, like all such solvents, can remove natural skin oil and fats, so avoid direct skin contact by using barrier creams or chemical-resistant gloves.

Features:

  • Low odour
  • Good solvency

Benefits:

  • Very versatile

METHANOL is a petrochemical of the alcohol family and is also known by the names Methyl Hydrate and Methyl Alcohol. This product has the ability to mix with both petroleum products and water for a wide variety of uses

METHANOL is often used as an additive to absorb water and lower the freezing point of fuel. With other trades it can be used as; a solvent, a cleaner, a refrigerant, fuel in decorative lamp and as an anti-freezing agent in windshield wash.

METHANOL is not suitable for use as a fuel in catalytic and pressure appliances, portable space heaters and stoves. For space heaters and stoves choose Irving KEROSENE 1-K.

METHANOL should be treated with the same care that is due any chemical. Avoid inhaling the vapors and take precautions to eliminate all sources of ignition in view of the relatively low flash point of this product. In general, choose a solvent with the highest flash point possible because this will reduce the vapor pressure and lower the fire risk as well as slow down evaporation. All hydrocarbon solvents can remove natural skin oil and fats, so avoid direct skin contact by using barrier creams or chemical-resistant gloves. This product is poisonous, consult the MSDS information on this product for recommendations on proper handling and first aid.

Features:

  • Good solvency and evaporation rate
  • Very low pour point

Benefits:

  • Absorbs water in fuels and oils
  • Multipurpose

IRVING KEROSENE is a highly refined hydrocarbon fluid with very low sulfur content. It is particularly suitable for use as a fuel for portable space heaters and lamps designed to run on kerosene.

IRVING KEROSENE exceeds the requirements of Canadian specification CGSB-3.3-M99 Type No. 1-K for this purpose. Products meeting these requirements are often referred to as “1-K” Kerosene. Regular kerosene, that does not meet the Type No. 1-K specifications, can have sulfur levels 100 times higher making such fuel unsuitable and dangerous for use in portable space heaters and stoves.

IRVING KEROSENE is not dyed and contains no other additives, so that it provides a clean, soot-free and bright flame without the tendency to form a crust on the wick.

IRVING KEROSENE is not suitable for use as a fuel in catalytic and pressure appliances.

Irving KEROSENE meets or exceeds the following and other specifications:

•    CGSB-3.3-M99 Type No. 1-K
•    ASTM D3699-08

Benefits:

  • Exceeds the “1-K” requirements
  • Clean-burning
  • Low odor
  • Will not crust on the wick
